Contemporary Surrey renovation with open corner bifold doors

The renovation of this 1950s home on the edge of London has completely transformed the home into a contemporary property with a seamless connection between inside and out – thanks to the large open corner set of SUNFLEX SF55 bifold doors installed by P&P Glass.

The renovation project saw the home completely remodelled, with a large loft conversion creating a stunning master bedroom complete with balcony set into the centre of the roof. At first floor level a recess into the rear elevation has been surrounded by frameless glass balustrades to create a balcony with unspoilt views over the garden.

Probably the most striking change to the house is at ground-floor level. A single storey extension with lantern roof enabled the whole floorplan to be opened up to create a huge open plan living space, including stunning kitchen and snug.

To connect the new space with the garden the architects incorporated an L-shaped set of bifold doors that completely open up the internal corner. When the doors are stacked open the divide between inside and out becomes almost invisible – with 7 panels stacking to one side and a 5-panel set stacking to the other side of the corner.

Installed with a low-threshold flush track (combining an enhanced weather-seal when closed with a step free finish between inside and out when open) the SF55 open corner bifold doors extend the house out on to the patio to create the ultimate entertaining and family space.
